Gritty McDuff's Brewpub located in Freeport (seen here) and Portland Maine offers a wide selection of beers brewed on premise. McDuff's Best Bitter, Pub Style and Best Brown Ale are offered year round. Other beers are available at different times of the year. Vacationland Summer Ale in the Summer, Halloween Ale in the fall and Christmas Ale at, you guessed it, Christmas time. | |
In addition to the beer, Gritty's has a wide selection of food available. Everything from cheeseburgers and fries to seafood plates and pizza are available. The Freeport location also produces beer for distribution in restaurants throughout the state and fills 22oz. bottles for you to take home. The onsite shop offers all their currently available beers and other gear at reasonable prices. |

If you are a frequent visitor to Gritty's you can join their mug club. As a member you get discounts on each beer you purchase. After 5 years of membership you graduate to a larger more colorful mug, but pay the smaller mug price! On Wednesday and Sundays all beers for mug club members cost only $1. If you can find a better deal in Maine I'd like to hear it. | |
| Gritty McDuff's in Freeport has a large deck off the bar. It's a great place to sit on a warm summer day and enjoy some great beer and food. Of course it's best enjoyed when sitting there with friends and talking about old times. |

Whenever I'm in the Freeport area I always stop by Gritty's for a beer or two. Many locals sit among the tourists and greet you with a friendly smile. If you visit often enough you'll get to know the staff and customers and will soon be welcomed as one of their own. Eventually, when it's time to leave I'll always pick up a few bottles of beer to take back home. | |
