A
woman drove me to drink and I didn't have the decency to thank her. - W.C. Fields
This month's
featured beer:
Hoegaarden White Beer
brewed since 1445
(Belgium)
Tasting Notes
Summary: Belgian White's are unfiltered wheat beers
very similar to the German hefeweizen's. The main
difference between the two is the fruity flavor and strong
coriandor presence in the Belgian Whites. Hoegaarden is an
excellent example of this style of beer and is best enjoyed in
the summer with tuna or chicken cooked on the grill.
Style: Belgian White
Appearance: A cloudy beer with a light honey
color. The thick creamy head disappears fast after the
beer is poured into the glass.
Aroma: A fruity bouquet with a hint of caramel and
peaches.
Taste: This beer has a nice clean mouth feel with a
nice balanced sweet taste. A lingering spicy flavor is
present after each sip.
