The Art of Beer Festival was held at the Boston
Center for the Arts (a.k.a. Cyclorama). It's a brick building with
a large circular room, brick floors and plenty of natural light from
all the windows.

The crowd builds
The crowd was very well behaved and the room was
large enough where you were not stepping on the person next to you.
All the brewers were set up along the walls in alphabetical order.
For most of the beer stations there was little to no wait times. Even
the bathrooms did not have a line the few times I visited. That was
the best surprise of all.

Garrett Oliver
Throughout the day several Brewmasters lectured the audience
on a variety of topics. Here is Garrett Oliver, Brewmaster of
Brooklyn Brewery, giving a lecture on pairing food and beer. He is
an excellent speaker and I urge anyone who has the opportunity not
to miss one of his presentations.
After Garrett's speech
I bought his book, The Brewmaster's Table, and was able to get him
to sign it for me!
Just like the scene at the Beer
Summit back in April the crowd here waited in anticipation to
sample the 120 IPA from Dogfish Head Brewery. This beer is 21 % ABV
(alcohol by volume) and has a strong hop flavor. I could notice some
nice sweet malts mixed in as well.
Waiting for the 120 IPA
Pouring the 120 IPA
Finally I made it to the front of the line and got my sample of the
120 IPA. Now if I could only find a bottle of it so I could enjoy it
at home.
